Traditional djembe drums

What is the African percussion, drums, bringing a wide appeal? How where and what are their traditional role in society to send?

Hundreds of years ago a group of people left the region Mande between northern Guinea and Bamako, heading towards the region of Senegambia.

These people are modern Mandingo people.
